Offense

Beeing a master of defense is certainly a good thing in life but the real fun simply starts as soon you can play the benefit of an ovensive strategy. In foosball like in most of any other game only the offense gets you points and scores to win the game. Developping a good and successful offense starts with exploring the opportunities to spot an open hole in the defense of the opponent and use this opportunity to shoot the ball as accurate as possible into exactly this hole.

Like in any other game the more offensive weapons, means the more techniques of available shots, the player has the greater the chance of winning the game is.

These pages in the section “offense” describe the most commonly used offensive shoots in foosball. If you are a beginner you will certainly need quite a bit more introduction and practice but you will realize soon the improvement in speed and accuracy of your shots. However, if you want to learn the shots in the best way you should avoid becoming crazy for speed. Rather focus on accurate control of the ball rather than shooting with highest speed.

There are a few simple recommendations for the offense in any table soccer game which are even very similiar to guidelines in soccer:

  • Refuse the tempation to watch your opponents movements and rather concentrate on the ball itself. This will help you to focus on the precision and accuracy of your shot.
  • Try to control the ball by keeping it as close as possible to your man. Don’t swing your men too much to avoid setting hard on your ball or even loose it.
  • Don’t move or spin the rods in an unneccessary way. This is neither useful nor is it meeting the regulations of table soccer.
